The family is the first system we belong to. It is where we first learn how to communicate, connect with others, and understand ourselves through relationships.
As life evolves, every family faces changes, transitions, and new challenges. The ways of communicating and relating that once worked may no longer meet the family’s needs, leading to conflict, distance, or patterns that affect everyone involved.
The problem is not the problem. The problem is coping with the problem.
Virginia Satir
Family therapy is not about assigning blame or identifying a “problem person.” Instead, it focuses on understanding the patterns that shape family relationships and exploring new ways of connecting, communicating, and supporting one another.
My approach is grounded in respect for each family’s unique story, culture, values, structure, and lived experience. I welcome and work with families of all backgrounds and family constellations.
A family isn’t defined by sharing the same roof. It’s defined by the willingness to stay connected, even as life changes.
